God
We believe that there is one God in three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is Sovereign, and chose to create the universe and humankind for His Own purpose. He is always just, good, loving, compassionate and fair. He is unchanging and eternal.
Humankind
We were created in the image of God, and as such every human life is precious. We were created to be in fellowship with God, and to reflect Who He is through our lives. However, we sinned against Him, we rejected Him, and we chose to try to find our own way through life apart from Him. Each person is born a sinner, and our sin now separates us from God (Romans 3:23). If nothing is done, it will separate us from God forever in a real place called Hell and the Lake of Fire. However, redemption is available through God's saving grace.
Jesus Christ
God loves His creation and has compassion on sinners. He demonstrated this by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus Christ is God manifest in flesh, born of the virgin. He took upon Himself perfect untaintable humanity without the sin of Adam's race that marks every one of us (1 Timothy 3:16). He willingly submitted to God’s will for Him to go to the cross to suffer and die for sin (I Peter 3:18). His work is now finished and infinite (John 19:30). He suffered once and took the punishment that we each deserve. (Isaiah 53:5,6). Following His death He was buried in a tomb. On the third day He rose again from the dead and is alive forevermore.
We believe in His imminent return to take His saints to heaven followed by a short period of judgement upon the earth. Following this He will set up His kingdom in which He will reign over the earth as King of kings.
Salvation
Salvation comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and is not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Lord Jesus' death on the cross was a sacrifice to God (Hebrews 9:14). Through faith we can accept His sacrifice personally for our sins (Romans 5:8). Thus we can be saved and eternally free from the punishment our sins deserve (John 3:16). More than that, on this ground God can declare the sinner righteous and justified (Romans 5:1). By the Lord Jesus' death God can reconcile us to Himself (Romans 5:10).
The Bible
The Bible was written over the course of more than 1500 years by over 30 different authors, and yet has one common theme running through it. The Bible, in its entirety, is divine revelation. We submit to its authority as the inerrant, inspired word of God. The Bible wasn't written for academic knowledge, but that we might know for sure that we will be with God forever (1 John 5:13).
